Christmas is getting closer and closer, and this is a time when you can make serious money with your online business. People are buying like crazy on the Internet at this time of the year, and these people have their credit cards ready to buy. Think about this when choosing your keywords, if there are a lot of searches right now, there will most likely be even more searches for Christmas if it´s something that could be bought as a gift.

The place to focus on is Amazon, because you will find almost anything there and they have many great Affiliate Marketing ideas. And most of the people you direct to your Affiliate offer at Amazon will buy because Amazon is a trustful website that has been around for quite some time. They can even end up buying a totally unrelated product to the one you promoted, it doesn´t matter – you will still get paid a commission for sending them to their website. And around Christmas people tend to buy more than one item. All you have to do is sending the traffic and Amazon will take care of the rest.

Start thinking what could be a good Christmas gift and what you could create an Affiliate site around. It could be something like toys for children, electronics, sports gears, tools, books etc. etc.

If you have your own website you want to be visible on Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. etc. right? If you are not visible you will not get any visitors, and that means: No Income! As I have already told you, there is a lot of different ways to get traffic to your website. But when you have created your new website and you start doing all the SEO stuff to get it ranked in Google, you still need to get it indexed so the search engines know that you exist. This can take months if you only put all the work on the content and design of your website.

Social Media is HOT! And this is where you should promote your web sites and your blog(s). Become a member on as many social media sites as possible and start marketing yourself. This is the best way to get visitors to your sites. Just an example: start a fan page or group on Facebook about your site, when ONE person “likes” this or becomes a member of your page or group – it will show to all of that person´s friends. Let´s say that person has 100 friends – all of them will see that he or she became a member or likes your page and most likely they will visit it too. And when one of those friends likes your page or becomes a meber it will spread to all of his/her friens….. It´s like a spider web – getting bigger and bigger. Can you see the potential?

When starting your Affiliate Marketing business you will probably find out that there´s a lot of different Affiliate Networks to choose from. I know from my own experience that it´s not always easy to know what to look for.

So I will suggest one good place for you to start with, and when you get warm in your clothes feel free to join others as well.

Commission Junction – This Affiliate Network offers Affiliate products in almost every niche available. They are very reliable, and the merchants are big and established companies. You will get quality products to promote, and because you are promoting reliable products this will help in getting a good reputation for your website. You get to choose from many different affiliate links, text links, banners, etc. Your commissions will get paid from Commission Junction, not the merchant. This way all your commissions are at one place instead of having them spread out. You can get your commissions as a direct deposit or have a check mailed out to you.

How do you start?

• You need your own website or blog.

• Join Commission Junction – this is free and only takes a few minutes.

• Select the Affiliate products in your niche you would like to promote.

• Choose what type of links or banners to use on your website.

• Your done. Start promoting your website.

Remember: Only choose Affiliate products to promote within your niche, and keep them related to your website. Get one website for one niche, another website for another niche, and so on.

Writing articles – this is nothing new, most people online do it. But there is a trick in Article Marketing that will get you more traffic to your website. The trick is to create a “number item list” in the article. What do I mean with a “number item list”? It´s an article where you write your content like this: 10 ways to do ………., or 7 ways to do ………, or whatever number you choose. And have it look like this:

• Etc.

• Etc.

And why is this such a great trick? It gets the people more interested in reading your article to the end, and this is where you catch them and get them to click on your link to your website. In your resource box always include a text saying something like this: “The 11th way I have kept private, but for a limited time I will share it with you”, or “There is one more secret on this subject that is very powerful when used correctly. If you want to take part of it you need to visit my website”. You can of course write anything you want, but make sure it is something that gets your readers hunger for more information.

The more article directories you submit your articles to = more backlinks to your website!

No traffic = Dead website! In the Internet Marketing Business, and any other business you need traffic (customers) coming to your site. Traffic = Money!

It doesn´t matter if you have the best website in the world if you don´t get any traffic to it. There are lots of different techniques to get traffic to your business and make money of it. I´m going to present some of them here:

• Use Bookmarking Sites – Use Facebook, Twitter etc. Search the web for Internet Marketing forums to get answers to questions you might have. Do some research and study how you can use social bookmarking sites in your online business.

• Post Comments On Other Blogs – These should be related to your niche. Be sure to include a link to your website in your comment. Backlinks to your site is very effective. But don´t spam your website, you shouldn´t put your link in every comment you make.

• Join Forums Related To Your Niche – Join the forum and put a link in there to your website. Write and ask questions every now and then, and keep it active.

• Post Original Content On Your Own Site – The search engines love this.

• Do Article Marketing – Everyone can write an article about a subject. If you can´t come up with the content yourself, use someone else´s. But make sure you rewrite it with your own words. The traffic back to your website comes from the links in the resource box.

Do this frequently and you will begin to see your visitor count slowly grow.
